Details of a competition with a €2,000 prize, aimed at community groups, was announced at a meeting in Naas last week.
Community groups in Kildare with plans to develop jobs and services locally are invited to apply for mentoring under a new Kildare Social Enterprise Programme, with a €2,000 prize on offer at the end for the county’s top social enterprise idea. The specially devised programme will provide a wide range of skills and mentoring on business planning, finance and funding, marketing, communications and measuring social impact.
It will run on evenings and Saturdays from May to November and is organised by Kildare LEADER Partnership in conjunction with Clann Credo Community Finance, Ireland’s leading provider of community loan finance and the Irish Social Finance Centre. Examples of existing social enterprise include McAuley Place in Naas, and Clane GAA community café.
The closing date for registration of interest is April 24. For more information and to register your interest in the Kildare Social Enterprise Programme visit: www.countykildarelp.ie email Frances Farrell at email@example.com or phone Brian Kelly on 045 895450.
