The Naas Youth Orchestra needs a permanent home

The Naas Youth Orchestra in action at McAuley Place

The Naas Youth Orchestra, established in 2002, needs a permanent home.

The group recently performed in a national competition as part of the 122nd Feis Ceoil.

There are 25 musicians in the group, directed by Tony Brychta and Marianna Alaberdova and they range in age from eight to 17. The NYO forms the core of the project to build an inclusive town orchestra for Naas, which will be o pen to musicians of all ages to support and promote the value of music through rehearsal and performance.

The NYO has performed regularly at local, national an international events — but it needs a permanent base. “Politicians like Darren Scully have been trying to find a place and we’re very grateful to McAuley Place and for the use of Naas Town Hall but a permanent home is needed,” said NYO member Lynne Kinlon
