Kildare solicitor, Geraldine Carthy is set to become a District Court judge after her appointment was approved by Cabinet yesterday.
Geraldine is a partner and head of the Family Law department of Reidy Stafford, which has offices in Kilcullen and Newbridge. The local solicitor practises primarily in family law, but also looks after medical negligence, personal injuries and employment law cases.
“Her experience also enables her to seek early resolution to family disputes especially those with a business element. Geraldine is a qualified family mediator as well as being an experienced collaborative lawyer,” said the firm’s website.
Educated at NUIG, Ms Carthy is a member of Law Society, Kildare Bar Association, Kildare and West Wicklow Collaborative Family Law Group, and Honorary Treasurer and member of the Executive Committee of the Family Lawyers Association of Ireland.
At Kilcock District Court this week, solicitors, David Powderly and Tony Hanahoe, congratulated Ms Carthy, on her appointment on behalf of legal colleagues.
