Kildare County Council should liaise with the Department of Education to ensure that enough schools are provided to service Naas in the future.

Cllr Sorcha O'Neill was due to raise the issue at a Naas Municipal District meeting on March 20.

She wants to know details of any meeting between the Department and KCC about “zoning of appropriate lands in accordance with the future need for educational facilities.”

Cllr O'Neill says there is concern that some areas might be zoned for school building projects without access to services.

She said that there aren't enough services in the area where Naas Community College is to be built and added that may have delayed the project.”

It isn't exactly within walking distance of the town which will put further burden on traffic at peak times.

and is not within sustainable travel plans,” Cllr O'Neill added.
