Call for Naas pedestrian crossing to be restored

St Mary's College, Naas

A call has been made to reinstate a pedestrian crossing at Sallins Road, Naas.

Cllr Sorcha O’Neill said the crossing is needed to facilitate the people walking to schools in the area and the parish church. The Sallins Road is the busiest route in Naas. There have been previous complaints from councillors about the sequencing of pedestrian lights across North Main Street near the Sallins Road junction.

“This pedestrian crossing was taken away about two years ago . Since then it’s caused a lot of confusion for students, churchgoers, pedestrians, and motorists,” said Cllr O’Neill. She added that the crossing is needed to access all of the facilities and shops in that part of Naas .
