Today will be very windy, with outbreaks of rain, persistent at times, with some heavy bursts, especially in south Leinster, according to Met Eireann.
A Yellow Alert wind warning is in place with winds expected to reach speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts between 90 and 100km/h. Winds will be strongest along southern areas at first but gradually extending to all parts of Leinster by late morning and afternoon.
A Yellow Alert rainfall warning is also in place for Kildare. Accumulations of 30 to 50mm are expected with a risk of localised flooding.
The national weather forecaster said tonight will be breezy and mostly cloudy, with outbreaks of rain, mainly in the eastern half of the country.
Drier conditions will extend to most parts by morning, but another spell of rain will develop in the southwest. Minimum temperatures 6 to 8 Celsius.
