TRAFFIC UPDATE: Caragh Road to Prosperous back open to two lanes

The Caragh to Prosperous road is back open after Kildare County Council closed it at 9.30am this morning to clear accumulated snow.

The road from Caragh Church past Mondello now has two lanes now open.

The route had been one of the most dangerous in the county with a narrow stretch of road surrounded by a corridor of high snow banks, with little option to pull in if motorists faced oncoming traffic.

Kildare County Council are urging motorists to continue to drive with caution.

The Caragh – Digby Bridge – Millicent road is also now passable.
