LATEST - Met Eireann extend SEVERE red weather warning in Kildare until tomorrow morning

Met Eireann have extended their red weather warning until 9am tomorrow morning.

The warning, issued at 3:45m this afternoon, applies to Kildare, Dublin, Wexford, Wicklow and Meath

They say snow accumulations are continuing to increase significantly due to further heavy falls of snow.

Elsewhere, forecasters have issued a Status Orange alert to Munster, Carlow, Kilkenny, Offaly, Laois, Longford, Louth,Westmeath, Cavan, Monaghan and Galway.

The alert remains in place from 4pm on Friday until 9am, Saturday.
