Newbridge Winter Lights to be officially switched on this Sunday

Newbridge's Winter Lights display is bigger than ever

The official launch of the Christmas lights display will take place on Sunday, December 3, at 4.30pm.

The Newbridge Fire Service will be bringing Santa to the Town Hall in Newbridge, where there will have some music, fun and surprises for the children.

Newbridge Winter Lights Committee Chairman Joe Kelly stated he would like to thank the business community for its financial contributions.

“Without their support we would only have achieved half of our goals to date. Thanks to their support, the support of Kildare County Council and in particular the finance and engineering departments we have had very successful beginnings as a committee.”

He explained this is year three of their plan and preparations are already in place to start phase four to extend the lighting further in winter 2018.

“Keep an eye out on shop windows for our bright green stickers to check out which local business supported the Newbridge Christmas Lights Committee this year and please support them,” he added.

The lights on the two Christmas trees will be switched on outside the Town Hall.
