Arrest warrant issued for Kildare town man

Man is charged with possession of cocaine

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Kildare town man after he failed to appear at Naas District Court on Thursday, November 23, to answer serious drugs charges, as well as an allegation that he broke into a building that was being used as a brothel.

Graham Morum, 27, with an address listed as 4 Dunmurray View, Kildare town, faces charges of possession, for sale or supply, at his own home on December 2, 2016, cannabis, cannabis resin and cocaine.

Judge Desmond Zaidan noted that it is alleged that the defendant had between “€12,000 and €13,000” worth of drugs in his house. It is also alleged that on September 29 last he broke into a house in Kildare town which was, at the time, being used as a brothel, using an imitation firearm and a wooden mallet.

“What was he allegedly trying to get in the brothel?” Judge Zaidan asked. “I don’t know,” Inspector Mel Smyth replied.

Judge Zaidan issued the warrant and noted: “That will be an interesting case to hear.”
