High-vis vests will help Naas pupils to be seen in winter

Pupils and teachers at St Corban's primary school, Naas

Pupils at St. Corban’s Boys National School in Naas have been given high-vis vests as part of a road safety promotion. ESB Networks and the Road Safety Authority are behind the initiative and they want parents guardians and teachers to ensure road safety, in particular cycle safety, is on the lesson plan for all children now that they’ve returned to school.

Moyagh Murdock, Chief Executive of the Road Safety Authority, has asked road users to be vigilant and said drivers need to pay attention to their speed, particularly in urban areas. Marguerite Sayers , managing director of ESB Networks, said wearing a high-viz vest is so important whether you are walking, cycling or even travelling on the school bus.

Packs including the vests can be had by accessing the RSA website.
