A new convenience store is to open in Naas town centre, opposite the Benetton outlet.
Day Today Naas will be located at 31 North Main Street selling groceries, deli items, beverages, newspapers/magazines and confectionery. It will also sell mobile phone credit and have a payzone facility for electronic bill paying. Work on refurbishing and stocking the premises is ongoing and it will likely open later next week.
Proprietor Henry Wu, also operates the Palace Chinese restaurant at Moorefield Road, Newbridge and also had the Great Wall takeaway unit in the Curragh. A native of China, Mr Wu has been living here for 17 years.
“One of the first times I visited Naas, I noticed there was nowhere to buy a bottle of water apart from Maxol on Dublin road and SuperValu at the other end of the town. Naas is a busy town. There are many people in Naas every day,” Mr Wu said.
He added the business will have two full time staff and part timers.
