Man with sledge hammer robs petrol station in Newbridge

Gardai in Kildare are appealing for information to a raid on a petrol station in Newbridge after a man entered the premises with a sledge hammer on Thursday November 17 at 5.30am.

Staff ran after the lone raider smashed a window in the Applegreen petrol station in Newbridge.

He was carrying a sledge hammer at the time and used it to smash the window.

He took some money from the till and made off on foot. No body was injured in the incident.
