Second fatal accident in two days

Gardaí have closed the road for a forensic examination

A second fatal road accident in the space of two days has taken place on Kildare roads. 

Gardaí are investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred on the R407 (Clane to Kilcock Road) near Baltracey at approximately 11.30pm last night.

A man in his 20s was fatally injured when the car he was driving, and the sole occupant, was involved in a collision with a truck. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Naas Hospital. The driver of the truck was taken to Blanchardstown Hospital with what are described as minor injuries.

This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
