Seven new homes planned for St. Patrick's Park, Rathangan

€8.5m development includes all associated site works

Works are expected to commence in January 2025 for the construction of seven new homes at St. Patrick's Park, Rathangan.

The €8.5m development includes all associated site works.

On December 11 2024, tenders were returned and were being considered for the construction of 'St. Patrick's Park', Rathangan.

According to Construction Information Services (CIS), the proposed development consists of the following: seven new residential houses; demolition of 15 existing houses; refurbishment of 23 existing houses including works to construct new footpaths; parking and all associated site development and landscaping works.

A part 8 planning application was submitted by Kildare County Council on December 12 2023 for this project.

The development consists of the construction of one four-bed one-storey dwelling; three three-bed two-storey dwellings; and three two-bed single-storey dwellings.

The development also consists of the refurbishment of 17 vacant units and eight occupied units, as well as demolition of 15 units to allow the development of a new landscaped public open space.

There is to be removal of an existing hardscaped play area and replacement with a new landscaped public open space and car parking, along with the provision of a new car park area on Kildare County Council lands to the north-west.

There is proposed new gate access to adjacent Kildare County Council lands, and the removal of existing back lane and extension of existing gardens to the rear of units 657 to 662.

Associated site development and civil works include: works to existing site and dwelling boundaries, boundaries to new dwellings; drainage, utilities, public lighting; upgrade of paths and roads, new paths and roads and hard landscaping, ancillary site services and site development works above and below ground; Extensive Site Development Works to create New Landscaped Public Open Space.

The architects for the development are Poga Consulting Engineers and McCrossan O'Rourke Manning Architects.

The main contractor is ML Quinn Construction Limited.
