A development described as a "retirement village" is being planned for Athgarvan.
A planning application was submitted to Kildare County Council by ARC Villages Limited.
The proposed development is earmarked for a site on the Curragh Road in Athgarvan.
Being planned is the demolition of two single storey vacant dwellings and all associated outbuildings.
The new retirement village will be one to two storeys in height consisting of 92 residential units.
Also planned is a garden terrace / winter garden area.
A recreational building will comprise an office, kitchen, multifunction room, activity / music room, wellness suite, library/games room, three treatment rooms, store rooms, bathrooms and changing rooms.
An open space will contain a bowling green, pickleball court, play space, amenity open space and allotments.
The development will also provide for 134 car parking spaces (125 standard spaces and seven accessible car parking spaces) and 32 secure visitor bicycle parking spaces.
The proposed development will also have two electricity substation kiosks.
Public lighting, solar panels, internal roads and footpaths are also in the designs.
