A planning application has been approved by Kildare County Council for Mondello Park Sports Limited for the refurbishment, recladding and extension of the existing museum.
A new mezzanine level will be built to enhance the viewing experience of vintage cars, racing exhibits and memorabilia.
The plans include a new lift and new reception area with space for a vehicle display area.
The designs also feature a two-storey hospitality building, a designated classroom, hospitality area, a bar, a corporate/dining area, toilets and a kitchen.
Plans for the first floor include a recessed viewing terrace overlooking the paddock and circuit, a hospitality area, a meeting room, an event office and toilets.
Also in the planning documents is a pedestrian overbridge two new cycle racks, four electric vehicle recharging spaces as well as enhanced road signage and road markings, according to Construction Information Services database.
