Gardaí are investigating an incident of theft and endangerment which occurred at a well-known hotel located in Straffan.
The matter was discussed by Garda Shane Smyth earlier today on KFM.
He said that on Wednesday, July 3 last, at around 12.50pm, a number of items were reported stolen from a delivery van parked on the grounds of Barberstown Castle.
Gda Smyth explained that a vehicle also drove towards the delivery van driver, causing them to take evasive action.
He added that the other vehicle was reported as being blue in colour with a partial '04D' registration plate.
When asked by the Leinster Leader for comment about the incident, a garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating a theft from a van and an incident of endangerment which occurred at a business premises in Straffan, County Kildare on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
"The incidents occurred at approximately 12.50pm during which a number of items were taken.
"There were no reports of injuries. "
"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson concluded.
