ELIMINATED: Sinn Féin representative for Kildare town loses his seat

An outgoing Sinn Féin representative for Kildare town has lost his seat on Kildare County Council (KCC).

Noel Connolly, who was co-opted as a councillor to replace Patricia Ryan (who is a TD) was eliminated on Count 7 of the Kildare Local Electoral Area poll.

His remaining 515 votes will be redistributed to the other candidates.

Mr Connolly got a first preference vote of 425.

Other councillors who lost their seats from KCC earlier today were Peter Hamilton (Green Party), who was previously a councillor for the Clane-Maynooth Municipal District, and Green Party councillor Bob Quinn (Green Party), who was co-opted to replace former Green Party councillor Colm Kenny for the Naas Municipal District.
