A brand-new bus shelter is needed at Rathangan bus stop.
That's according to one candidate for the Kildare Local Electoral Area, Brian O'Loughlin.
The Fianna Fáil candidate has 'hailed the enhancement of public transport in the Rathangan area' but also stressed that a bus shelter is needed at the Rathangan bus stop.
Mr O'Loughlin said: "In light of inclement weather, a bus shelter is badly needed at the Rathangan bus stop.
"The development of a bus shelter will encourage a lot more residents to use public transport even on days when the weather isn’t good."
"Apart from the need for this bus shelter, I have welcomed the increased connectivity of public transport between Rathangan and other locations around the county, something that he says was badly needed.
"The public transport connectivity between Rathangan and other places around the county has increased hugely, including a new service connecting Rathangan with Allenwood and Monasterevin which is due to start at the end of the summer."
"I welcome this for the area of Rathangan, it was badly needed," he concluded.
Mr O'Loughlin said that he pledges 'to make a bus shelter a priority' if he is elected in the upcoming local elections: "I want the people of Rathangan to have a reliable voice on Kildare County Council, and I will be that voice if elected."
"The matter of a bus shelter for local residents will be of the upmost importance to me if elected on June 7," he added.
