An extension to the Aldi store on the Newbridge Road in Naas is being proposed.

A planning application was submitted to Kildare County Council by Aldi Stores (Ireland) Limited for a single storey extension.

Being planned is a 365 sqm gross floor area development to accommodate reconfiguration of the existing store layout.

The designs include relocation of the warehouse/storage area to the rear of the extension.

The previous warehouse area will be replaced with an extended retail area to result in a reconfigured store comprising 1,693 sqm gross floor area.

A deposit return scheme room is also in the plans.

The proposals also include alterations to the car park area and layout consisting of the relocation of seven car parking spaces from the southern boundary to the eastern boundary resulting in a net loss of 13 car parking spaces.

There will be 72 spaces instead of 85 following the planned changes.

Four charging parking spaces will also be installed, as per the plans.
