Staff at the Insomnia café branch located on the North Main Street in Naas are raising funds to assist the outlet's manager, whose partner passed away.
Gary McDonnell recently passed away from cancer, and was the partner of the branch's manager, Sinéad Mullally, who also unexpectedly lost her mother earlier this year.
A campaign has been launched on GoFundMe by one Jade Gill in aid of Sinéad.
Explaining the background behind the campaign, Insomnia Main Street Naas said in the fundraiser's description: "We come to you with heavy hearts.
"Our dear manager, Sineád Mullally, the vibrant soul behind the counter at Insomnia Naas, has faced a year of unimaginable challenges: her beloved partner of 20 years, Gary McDonnell, bravely fought a relentless battle against cancer, a fight that drained their resources and left them grappling with medical bills."
The branch's staff continued: "Despite the weight of this burden, Sinéad never faltered in her commitment to her job or her infectious spirit."
She's known for her infectious laugh, friendly chats (and perhaps the best coffee in Naas!)"
"In addition to facing Gary's illness, she also unexpectedly lost her mother earlier this year, adding another layer of unimaginable grief to her already heavy heart.
"Tragically, Gary lost his fight on May 10, leaving Sinead to raise their granddaughter, Brooke."
The staff of the Main Street Naas branch has said that it stands together in solidarity with Sinéad: "We've launched this fundraiser to alleviate some of the financial strain she faces, particularly concerning funeral costs and ongoing medical expenses while raising Brooke.
"Sinéad has been the rock of our team, and now it's our turn to offer her the support she so desperately needs.
"Every donation, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference in Sinead's life.
"We hope that we can come together as a community to show her the love and support she has always shown us."
"Thank you for your generosity and kindness during this difficult time," the group concluded.
The fundraiser currently has a €5,000 goal, and as of the time of publication, it has raised over €2,190.
