The suspect was expected to appear before Tullamore District Court (PICTURED ABOVE) this morning.
A male suspect is due in court over an alleged car theft offence.
Commenting on the matter, a garda spokesperson told the Leinster Leader: "Gardaí are investigating the theft of a car from a domestic property in Athy, County Kildare, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday, April 25, 2024."
The spokesperson added: "A man, aged in his late teens, who was arrested in relation to the incident has since been charged and was expected to appear before Tullamore District Court this morning, Wednesday, May 1, 2024."
