An investigation has been launched by An Garda Síochána into a theft incident which occurred in Monasterevin over the weekend.
Garda Mark Connolly told KFM Radio this morning that the incident took place at around 3am on Sunday, March 10 last.
He told host Eoin Beatty that gardaí received a report of a male who was spotted attempting to steal items from a car which was located in the Brocan Wood housing estate.
Gda Connolly further said that the male was reportedly disturbed by someone else and fled the scene in a vehicle.
"Nothing appears to have been taken by the male," he added.
Gda Connolly concluded by saying that anyone with information in relation to this incident can ring Monasterevin Garda Station on (045) 525 322.
When asked about the incident by the Leinster Leader, a garda spokesperson has this to say: "Gardaí responded to reports of theft from a car in Monasterevin, County Kildare, on Sunday, March 10, 2024."
The spokesperson also said that garda investigations are ongoing.
