UPDATED: Hundreds across County Kildare affected by power outages caused by Storm Isha

Hundreds of people across County Kildare are currently being affected by power outages caused by Storm Isha.

The Atlantic storm system sparked Status Red and Orange warnings yesterday (Sunday, January 21), with the northwest of the country worst affected by the storm.

Almost 240,000 customers around Ireland saw their power knocked out with crews now working to restore power.

As of the time of publication, the ESB has reported the following figures in relation to power outages in Kildare:

  • A total of 410 customers are without power in Monasterevin, with an estimated restore time listed as 6pm (UPDATE: Power has since been restored to this area).
  • 234 customers are without power in Kishawanny near Edenderry, with an estimated restore time listed as 6pm (UPDATE: Power has since been restored to this area).
  • A total of 162 customers are without power in Blake near Derrinturn / Allenwood, with an estimated restore time listed as 6pm.
  • 16 customers are without power in the Derryoughter West / Cush area, with an estimated restore time listed as 6pm.
  • 12 customers are without power in the Dunfirth area of Kilcock, with an estimated restore time listed as 6pm.

252 customers in Athy were affected by a power outage last night, with the power restored at around 8.45am, according to the ESB.
