Newbridge.
Residents in Newbridge are complaining about noise levels from the motorway.
Cllr Peggy O’Dwyer said the estate was constructed before the motorway and finance is needed to find a solution - because noise levels exceed the threshold.
She said money is needed to pay for mitigation measures.
Kildare County Council official Celina Barrett said a “noise action plan process” started in 2022.
She told a KCC meeting that traffic data collection has been completed.
Ms Barrett said once the first phase is finished, guidance on the content of the noise action plan will issue from the Environmental Protection Agency. The tentative publication date of the plan is mid-2024.
