Naas based artist to open exhibition in Kildare gallery

Artist Rosemary Noonan

Naas based visual artist Rosemary Noonan will open a new exhibition installation titled Whispers of Resilience at No. 8 Gallery Kildare town on Saturday January 6th, 2024, coinciding with the First Fortnight Festival.

Rosemary Noonan's journey began in 2018 when she reignited her passion for art, initially
painting at the Whitebox Gallery. Her dedication to her craft led her to seek mentorship from the
late painter Trevor Geoghegan, further honing her artistic skills and expanding her creative vision.

A recent graduate of NCAD where she was awarded a Certificate in Drawing and Visual Investigation,
she is now engaged at Pulse College Dublin where she is studying Animation.
With the support of a Kildare Arts Service First Fortnight Award, for this exhibition Rosemary has
explored the nuanced experiences of women, addressing themes of pregnancy loss, trauma, and the
intricate spectrum of fertility issues. The installation is a reflection on the changes within the female
body, questions of identity, and the complexities surrounding the decision to become a parent or
not.

"Whispers of Resilience" celebrates the unyielding strength of women in navigating adversity, inviting viewers to engage with the evocative narrative woven through Noonan's masterful
installation. T

The exhibition invites contemplation and dialogue on the manifold facets of womanhood, resonating with audiences through its emotional depth and visual eloquence.

As part of the exhibition Rosemary a panel discussion will take place on 10th January 2024, featuring
contributions from Rosemary Noonan, Lucina Russell, Lauren Hamilton, Dr Afif El-Khuffash and Dr Philomena McCarthy
