Naas man Trevor Deely has been missing since December 8, 2000.
One of Trevor Deely's sisters has commented on the 23rd anniversary of his disappearance.
22-year-old Trevor Deely disappeared in Dublin in the early hours of December 8, 2000, following a work Christmas party.
The anniversary of his disappearance takes place just one day before National Missing Person's Day.
Speaking about the anniversary, Trevor's sister, Pamela Deely-Bensmaine, said in a post on her Facebook account:
"And so another December 8 has arrived, which now marks 23 years since Trevor disappeared.
"He is still so sorely missed by us all and we will never give up on searching for answers as to what happened on that night as he walked home due to a taxi strike in Dublin City."
She continued: "I am however feeling much more positive since hearing that the man in black has been identified.
"This is a huge relief to me and I feel that if this can come to light after 23 years, then maybe the final answers will too and Trevor will come home to us.
"There is nothing sinister about Trevor; he is a happy, content guy with lots of friends and a loving family.
"I am confident that the truth will be told and I believe this is true for every one of these tragic missing persons cases not just for Trevor."
She concluded: "One day we will know what happened and I hope and pray it is soon."
