€21,000 worth of suspected drugs, in addition to a firearm, have been seized near Kildare-Dublin border.
Commenting on the discovery, a garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí seized in excess of €21,000 suspected drugs and seized a firearm as part of a day of action in the DMR West on October 9, 2023.
"Gardaí attached to the Ronanstown Drugs Unit within the Lucan District, carried out a search at a location in Ronanstown."
The spokesperson continued: "Over the course of this search, Gardai seized over €21,000 in drugs.
Diamorphine with an estimated street value of €10,500, cocaine worth €9,170, dalmaine tablets with a value of €1,400 and a small quantity of cannabis was seized.
"A firearm was also seized along with a quantity of ammunition."
The spokesperson further said that all of the suspected drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis, while the firearm will undergo analysis at the Ballistics Section of the Garda Technical Bureau.
"No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson concluded.
