Gardai have seized drugs worth an estimated €60,000 in Laois
As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí from the Laois Roads Policing Unit stopped a car on while on routine patrol on the R445 near Emo on Tuesday, September 19.
Following a search of the car, cannabis herb worth €60,000 was seized along with a quantity of cocaine worth in excess of €5,000 and a small amount of ecstasy.
The occupants of the car, two men in their 20s, were arrested. They were taken to a Garda Station in County Laois and are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 and can be detained for up to seven days.
Gardai said all of the drugs seized are subject to analysis. They said the investigation is ongoing and further updates will follow.
