A driving disqualification (DQ) was imposed on a man currently serving a 36-month custodial sentence.

Paul Ward, with an address given as 11 Kilbelin Close in Newbridge but who is currently serving a custodial sentence imposed back in July, was convicted for driving with no insurance.

Gardaí told Judge Desmond Zaidan that the 30-year-old had committed the offence on the R445 at Newhall in County Kildare on January 2, 2021.

It was heard that Mr Ward has eight previous convictions, including three convictions for driving with no insurance.

Judge Zaidan decided to impose a six-year driving DQ on Mr Ward.
