Ibiza inspired DJs at The K Club for Horizon Irish Open

Next Wednesday, September 6 sees the Horizon Irish Open kick off at The K Club with celebrities from the worlds of sport and entertainment taking part in the Pro-Am.

The line-up includes rugby stars Joey Carbery, Tommy Bowe and Rory Best, impressionist Conor ‘Sketches’ Moore, former Cork GAA All-Star footballer Valerie Mulcahy, former jockey Bryan Cooper and GAA Stars Cian Lynch, Dean Rock and David Clifford.

Also taking place on Wednesday at The K Club is an Ibiza-inspired DJ set by YEOODJ, where guests will be transported to the sunny climbs of Ibiza and into party mode.

YEOODJ have played in some of the world’s top clubs, performing to thousands on a weekly basis. They will kick things off at 4.45pm with remixes of 80s, 90s and dance classics - tunes that everyone will know, along with a mixture of funky disco and latin inspired house tracks. The set will also feature live percussion from Jerry Conga and live Latin trumpet from Rick Swann.

There is something for everyone as on Saturday, September 9, Scouting for Girls will headline the main stage at the Horizon Irish Open and on Sunday 10 The Stunning will bring the week’s festivities to a close. Scouting for Girls are known for hits such as She’s So Lovely, Elvis Ain’t Dead and This Ain’t a Love Song. The English pop rock band toured with Olly Murs in the UK this Summer before they take to the stage in County Kildare.

Formed by Steve Wall in Galway, this will be The Stunning’s first time playing the Horizon Irish Open. The Brewing Up A Storm singers will perform on Sunday September 10. Both acts will take to the stage once the final putt drops each evening.

Paul Gillmon, Championship Director of the Horizon Irish Open said:“We’re gearing up for a very exciting week at The K Club next week as we kick off the 2023 Horizon Irish Open. Not only do we have a star studded Pro Am line up, we also have great food in our Championship Village and music and entertainment on site every day of the tournament. We’re kicking things off with an Ibiza-inspired DJ set on Wednesday and we’ll have Scouting For Girls plus The Stunning headlining the main stage at the weekend. Mixed with great golf, The K Club is the only place to be next week.”

After a hugely successful hosting in 2016, the island of Ireland’s national open will return to The K Club when the 68th edition is played from September 6 to 10. Returning to The K Club is Rory McIlroy who secured a famous victory at the County Kildare venue in 2016 after producing a stunning eagle-par-birdie finish to secure his first professional victory on Irish soil by three strokes.

Joining the four-time Major Champion is 2019 Open Championship winner Shane Lowry, three-time Major Champion Pádraig Harrington, six-time DP World Tour champion Tyrrell Hatton, two-time PGA TOUR winner Séamus Power, European Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald and former Masters Tournament winners Adam Scott and Danny Willett.
