KILDARE: Green light given for €19m renewable facility in Monasterevin

A renewable biogas and biofertiliser production facility has been approved for the Monasterevin area. 

Evergreen Agricultural Enterprises Limited has been granted planning permission for the development on 7.9 hectares at Lackaghmore.

The facility will have an intake of 165,000 tonnes of feedstock per annum that will feed into the existing Gas Networks Ireland (GNI) network.

The facility will comprise of: input weigh bridges and weighbridge offices, reception, control room/laboratory, canteen, changing and toilet facilities.

Also in the designs are digestor units, tanks and other buildings.

An environmental impact assessment report (EIAR) and natura impact statement (NIS) have been prepared in respect of the proposed development.

The estimated construction value of the project is €19m, according to the Construction Information Services database.
