Your Leinster Leader will include a special 20-page Supplement in this week's edition. 

The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Festival runs across Friday, Saturday and Sunday. 

The Irish Derby race is run on the Sunday. 

Friday 30th June


A lively evening race meeting with great racing including the JJ Mahon & Sons Premier Handicap and the Silken Thomas and Lock 13 Apprentice Derby.
A live performance from QWEEN who will rock The Curragh on Funky Friday with their brilliant authentic and much acclaimed show after racing.

They have wowed audiences with a theatrical show that brings the crowd right back in time to the front row of a classic Queen gig performing all their best-known songs.

Saturday, July 1

Day 2 of the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby, Saturday is Style Day featuring the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes and Kildare Village Ladies Derby. Come and visit our fabulous Festival Quarter with live music throughout the day and foodie village - everyone is welcome!
There will be spotters on the day giving away prizes for the most stylish.
The day will finish on a high with a performance from Kildare singer-songwriter Lea Heart after racing in our Festival Quarter located overlooking the parade ring. Our Kids zone will be open on our Derby Lawn with lots of free entertainment.

Sunday, July 2

- Day 3 is Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby Day and Ladies Day with an exciting line up of great racing, style and glamour, live music and tasty food throughout the venue and family fun with lots of free entertainment at our Kids zone on Derby Lawn.
The event will come to a close on Sunday evening with a live performance from Spring Break playing all the hits of the 90s and much more in the new Festival Quarter located overlooking the parade ring.

Thousands of racegoers are expected to consume the following quantities of food and drink: 

  • 1.5 tonnes of potatoes and fresh vegetables
  • 36,000 pints of Guinness, beers and lagers 
  • 4,000 bottles of beer, 800 bottles of Moet champagne, 1200 bottles of wine, 150 bottles of vodka, 58 bottles of gin,
  • 8,000 soft drinks,
  • 4,000 cups of tea and coffee
  • 1,500 desserts
  • 1,750 burgers
