Team members from Specsavers Newbridge took part in the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon

Team members from Specsavers Newbridge recently took part in the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon in Dublin on Sunday 4 June in aid of Alzheimer's Society of Ireland.

It was among several community fundraisers the team have undertaken several recently to raise funds to support the crucial work in providing support, resources, and care to individuals affected by Alzheimer's disease.

 Carol O’Neill (Audiology Director), Lisa Murphy (Audiologist), Rebecca Ryan (Clinical Assistant) and Abbi Harpur (Clinic Supervisor) participated from Specsavers Newbridge. To date, the store has raised €1,300 for the worthy cause.

 On Saturday 1 July Specsavers Newbridge will host a charity ‘Bikeathon’ where they aim to reach their €2,000 goal. The community of Newbridge are encouraged to call down at to the store on the day from 10am to 3pm and support the team. There will be a selection of hampers up for grabs in a raffle which will run until 1 July.

Alzheimer's disease is a debilitating condition that affects millions of people worldwide, and the Alzheimer's Society of Ireland plays a vital role in supporting those affected by the disease in Ireland. Through their fundraising efforts, Specsavers Newbridge aims to make a meaningful contribution towards improving the lives of individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer's. With a strong commitment to the community, Specsavers Newbridge recognises the importance of supporting organisations that make a real difference in the community.

 Speaking about their fundraising efforts, Specsavers Newbridge’s Audiology Director, Carol O’Neill, says ‘We understand the profound impact Alzheimer's has on individuals and their loved ones, and we are determined to do our part in supporting the organization's vital work. We are in awe of how incredibly generous the local community of Newbridge has been - one lady even made us a spectacular cake to raffle off on our bake sale day!’
