Motorists have been warned that roads can be slippery when rains falls after a long dry spell.
Firefighters and paramedics from Dun Laoghaire attended a collision this morning in Cherrywood, in south Dublin.
Dublin Fire Brigade said: "Roads may be greasy after overnight showers. Allow extra stopping distance."
Experts say that motorists should slow down and drive with care on roads that are wet after a heatwave.
The tar in some roads can melt and bleed through to the surface.
Extremely dry roads can often have a build-up of rubber and oil particles which can form a greasy layer when rain falls.
