A man threatened to burn down his mother’s home.
The incident took place in the greater Naas area and the 24 year old appeared before the local district court for a breach of family law legislation.
Sgt Dave Hanrahan told the court the incident took place on July 4 last at 11.15pm
The woman contacted the gardaí to say he was shouting at her, threatening to break up the house and burn it down.
He claimed the defendant was in breach of a safety order.
Solicitor David Powderly said the man is back living at home with his mother, who did not attend court.
Mr Powderly said the man had gone to rehab and completed it.
Judge Desmond Zaidan applied the Probation Act.
He stressed however that the woman can come back to court and seek full protection if her son ”acts up again.”
