ACCUSATIONS

Two men residing in Newbridge accused of making threats relating to an alleged drug debt have had their cases sent forward for trial.

Dylan Lennon, 26, with an address listed as The Crescent, Liffey Hall in Newbridge, and Dylan Mulcahy-Noone, 20, with an address listed as 25 Rosconnell in Newbridge, appeared at Naas District Court on Thursday, May 25.

Books of evidence were served against both men, with one book contained an alleged offence involving both Mr Lennon and Mr Mulcahy-Noone, which related to an alleged drug debt threat.

The court was reminded of the allegations faced by Mr Lennon on the date in question by gardaí.

It was heard that on October 25, 2018, at St Conleth’s in Newbridge, Mr Lennon found with around €450 worth of cocaine on his person.

Then, on April 21, 2021, at approximately 6.30pm, Mr Lennon was found with an estimated €11,340 worth of suspected cocaine and ketamine at Bishopsland in Kildare town.

In relation to Mr Mulcahy-Noone, it was alleged by gardaí that he had made 'unwarranted demands' for an alleged debt of €2,600 in the carpark of St Brigid’s Church on January 7, 2022.

It was also alleged that, the following day, Mr Mulcahy-Noone, in association with Mr Lennon, had threatened a woman in relation to the debt near The Gables in Newbridge.

Specifically, gardaí claimed that Mr Mulcahy-Noone threatened to send someone to cause criminal damage to her home.

After the relevant books were served on both men, Judge Zaidan sent both of them forward for trial at the next sittings of Naas Circuit Criminal Court, which is due to commence on June 20.

He also remanded both men on continuing bail until this date.
