The 20th Anniversary GORDON BENNETT, Irish Classic Car Run is taking place on the June Bank Holiday weekend.
Friday, June 2nd: Registration and Introductions from 6pm onwards at Portlaoise College. The perfect opportunity to get acquainted with the event and view some wonderful classic and vintage cars!
Saturday, June 3rd: The adventure begins! Departing from Treacys the Heath at 11am, we'll embark on a historic run to Abbeyleix House + Farm in Co Laois. Explore the stunning grounds of this privately owned house, dating back to 1776, which is surrounded by 1200 acres of woodlands and gardens. Enjoy food and craft stalls, meet horses, ponies, and alpacas, and weather permitting, witness an exhilarating air display. Next stop, The Thatch Pub in Killenard, where participants will gather for the Drivers' Dinner.
Sunday, June 4th: Get ready to retrace history! Departing from Treacys the Heath at 11am, we'll follow the iconic Gordon Bennett route from 1903. We stop at The Moat of Ardscull before continuing to Ballitore Quaker Village for food, crafts, and entertainment. Join us next in Kildare Town, where we'll be part of the Cill Dara Car Club's annual vintage and classic car day. In the evening, participants will enjoy a grand Gala Dinner held at the Midlands Park Hotel.
Monday, June 5th: What a day ahead! Departing from Treacys the Heath at 11am, we'll head to Monasterevin in Co. Kildare for a day filled with music, crafts, food, and some amazing entertainment. This promises to be a fun-packed experience you won't want to miss! As the day winds down, we'll take a scenic drive back to Treacys the Heath for our grand finale BBQ, complete with lively music and lots of craic.
Mark your calendars and join us at various stops along the way to witness the beauty of classic cars, immerse yourself in historic sites, and enjoy the lively atmosphere of our event.
