KILDARE: Vehicle speeding on the N7 on bank holiday weekend had no insurance

A vehicle was detected travelling at 142km per hour on the N7 over the bank holiday.

Naas Roads Policing Unit (RPU) was on speed enforcement duty.

Gardaí said the driver had no insurance and was a Learner Permit holder with no L-plates displayed.

The vehicle was seized, fines were issued and the motorist will be making an appearance in court soon. 

Meanwhile Naas RPU carried out speed checks on the Millennium Road in Naas recently when they stopped a car found speeding at 119kph.

The driver was an unaccompanied Learner Driver who proceeded to tested positive for Cocaine.

The driver was arrested and the car was sized. Court proceedings will follow.
