Sam
Mira
When a friendly female Lurcher Cross came into our care in February she was very extremely emaciated.
We called her Mira as in miracle, because she managed to stay alive. It took a number of weeks to build up her strength and to increase her weight back to normal levels.
What was remarkable about this dog was that despite her poor health you could see her determination to get better every day.
All volunteers at the shelter loved walking her because she was always in great form.
Mira was adopted recently and is now living a happy life on Rutland Island off the coast of Donegal.
She enjoys tearing around the quiet beaches and going for trips on the boat.
Her owner Ian said that she loves listening to the sound of the sea.
Sam
Found as a stray in woodlands, Sam is an older German Shepherd – thought to be around seven years of age.
He came to us in a neglected state and it looked like he had been wandering in the woods for quite a long time.
He has since been given many hours of grooming by the shelter volunteers.
His coat is looking so much better. H e is a placid, friendly dog and is very easy to walk on the lead.
Sam is comfortable around both people and dogs.
He has been neutered, microchipped (9722742000393527), vaccinated and treated for worms and fleas.
If you have an interest in adopting Sam, please visit our website, kwwspca.ie and complete the ‘Expression of Interest Form.
