A Kildare County councillor has voiced concerns over visibility at a car park located at the Hill of Allen.

At the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District (MD) meeting, Fine Gael Cllr Mark Stafford asked Kildare County Council to consider the opening of a new entrance to the Hill of Allen car park, in order to 'achieve sufficient sightlines for the car park to be used safely.'

The meeting was held on Wednesday, April 19 last.

In response, a representative for KCC told Cllr Stafford that the MD Office has examined the site on several occasions.

The representative added: "Without the purchase or donation of lands, it is not possible to provide safe access to the existing car park."

Despite this reply, the representative said that Cllr Stafford's concerns had validity to them.
