ALERT: Four separate temporary road closures announced for Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District

Four separate temporary road closures have been announced by Kildare County Council.

Kildare County Council, on behalf of Kildare Newbridge Municipal District Office, gives notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it intends to close these roads during the period between Tuesday, April 25, 2023 to Saturday, September 30, 2023.

These closures will occur in order to facilitate the maintenance of the road network as per Section 13 of the Roads Act 1993.

The first road to be closed will be the L7008 at Ellistown, from the L7008/L7007 at Springfield Crossroads to the L7011/L7012 at Crossmorris Crossroads.

Duration of the closure at any one time will be for five days.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

Southbound traffic at the junction of the L7008/L7007 (Springfield Crossroads) head westbound to the junction of the L7008/R414 (Tullylost Crossroads).

At the junction, turn left onto the R414 and head southbound to the junction of the R414/L7012 (Ballykelly Crossroads).

At the junction, turn left onto the L7012 and head eastbound to the junction of the L7012/L7011 (Crossmorris Crossroads) where the diversion ends.

Northbound traffic at the junction of the L7012/L7011 (Crossmorris Crossroads) travel on the L7012 in a westbound direction to the junction of the L7012/R414 (Ballykelly Crossroads).

At the junction, turn right onto the R414 and head in a northbound direction to the junction of the R414/L7008 (Tullylost Crossroads).

At the junction, turn right onto the L7008 and finish the diversion at the junction of the L7008/L7007 (Springfield Crossroads).

Duration of the closure at any one time will be for five days.

The second road to be closed will be the R415 at Newtown, from the R415/L7024 at Newtown Crossroads to the R415/L7055 at Walterstown Crossroads.

Duration of the closure at any one time will be for five days.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

Southbound traffic at the junction of the R415/L7024 (Newtown Crossroads) travel in a westbound direction on the L7024, travelling through the L3004 and L3010 to the junction of the L3010/L7055 (Duneany Crossroads).

At the junction, turn left onto the L7055 travelling eastbound to finish the diversion at the junction of the L7055/R415 (Walterstown Crossroads).

Northbound traffic at the junction of the R415/L7055 (Walterstown Crossroads) head eastbound on the L7055 to the junction of the L7055/L3010 (Duneany Crossroads).

At the junction, turn right onto the L3010 and head northbound passing through the L3004/L7024 to finish the diversion at the junction of the R415/L7024 (Newtown Crossroads).

The third road to be closed will be the R414 at Mountrice Tullylost, from R414/L7008 at Tullylost Crossroads to the R414/L7010 at Mountrice Crossroads.

Duration of the closure at any one time will be for five days.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

Southbound traffic at the junction of the R414/L7008 (Tullylost Crossroads) travel on the L7008 and L7011 to the junction of the L7011/L7012 (Crossmorris Crossroads).

At the junction, turn right onto the L7012 and travel westbound to the junction of the R414/L7012 (Ballykelly Crossroads), where the diversion ends.

Northbound traffic at the junction of the R414/L7012 (Ballykelly Crossroads) re-route along the L7012 in an eastbound direction to the junction of the L7012 and L7011 (Crossmorris Crossroads).

At the junction, turn left onto the L7011 and travel northbound continuing on the L7008 to finish at the junction of the L7008/R414 (Tullylost Crossroads), where the diversion ends.

Lastly, the fourth road to be closed will be L3003 at Kilmoney, Rathangan, from the L3003/L3002 at Kilmoney, Rathangan, Crossroads to the L3003/R415 Rathbride Crossroads in The Curragh.

Duration of the closure at any one time will be for five days.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

Southbound traffic at the junction of the L3003/L3002 (Kilmoney Crossroads) travel eastbound on the L3002, through Feighcullen Crossroads and onto the L7004 to the junction of the L7004/L7006 (Bull Ring Crossroads), continue travelling on the L7006 to the junction of the L7006/R415 (Wheelam Crossroads).

At the junction turn right, onto the R415 travelling in a southbound direction to finish at the junction of the R415/L3003 (Rathbride Crossroads).

Northbound traffic at the junction of the R415/L3003 (Rathbride Crossroads), travel in a northbound direction on the R415 towards the junction of the R415/L7006 (Wheelam Crossroads).

At the junction, turn left onto the L7006 passing Bull Ring Crossroads and onto the L7004/L3002, passing Feighcullen Crossroads to finish the diversion at the junction of the L3002/L3003 (Kilmoney Crossroads).

Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána.

Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained.

Any objections/observations to these road closures should be lodged in writing to: the A/Senior Executive Officer, Roads, Transportation and Public Safety, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, County Kildare, or directly on the consultation portal at https://consult.Kildarecoco.ie/en on or before 5pm on Monday, April 10, 2023.
