The Department of Education and Skills is currently seeking tenders from contractors to provide a Fire Safety Design Consultancy Service for the new Curragh Community College in Kildare town.

The 1,000-pupil post-primary school for the Curragh Community College will be based in a site in the former Magee Barracks complex.

The value of the tender is around €3m, according to the Construction Information Services database.

The deadline for receiving tenders is April 24.

The work is scheduled to be 72 hours in duration.

The 3.25 hectare (8 acre) greenfield site is adjacent to two existing primary schools – Kildare Town Educate Together NS and Gaelscoil Mhic Aodha – and will include four special education needs (SEN) units.
