The arrested trainee garda in question was arrested in Dublin and held in a station there, before he also being released without charge.
When asked about the incident by the Leinster Leader, a spokesperson for AGS explained: "As part of an on-going investigation by the Garda Anti-Corruption Unit, a male was arrested in the east of the country yesterday in relation to an alleged offence under Section 62 of the Garda Síochána Act."
Section 62 of the Garda Síochána Act relates to the unlawful disclosure of confidential Garda information.
They continued: "He was later released without charge and a file will be sent to the DPP."
"As part of the same investigation, a male probationer Garda was arrested in Dublin yesterday in relation to the same alleged offence.
"He was later released without charge and a file will be sent to the DPP.
"The probationer Garda has been suspended since 2022."
The spokesperson added that because the investigation is ongoing, AGS will not be commenting on the matter any further at this time.
