KILDARE: Liffey Linear Park wins award at IPB Pride of Place Competition

Liffey Linear Park was the winner of a special award in the Creative Places category

Kildare County Council has announced that Liffey Linear Park were the winners of a special award in the Creative Places category at the 2022 IPB Pride of Place Competition which was held in the Clayton Hotel, Dublin last Saturday.

Narragmore were Runners Up in the "Village with a Population of 300 - 1,000" Category at the IDP Pride of Place Awards 2022.

The IPB Pride of Place Competition celebrates unsung community heroes and their voluntary work. These groups make a significant difference in the places where they live, inspiring friends and neighbours to get involved and improving the lives of all in their community. It is known affectionately as the “Community Oscars”.

Liffey Linear Park, Newbridge was the nomination in the Creative Place category. This flagship project by Newbridge Tidy Towns is the jewel in the crown of the Newbridge area.  Liffey Linear Park, is a 9.5-acre public park which stretches along the banks of the River Liffey, in what used to be a floodplain. This group is no stranger to awards, having held the Green Flag recognition for a number of years.

Narraghmore was nominated in the Village with a population of 300 -1000 category. 

The Narraghmore Development CLG has led an impressive transformation of the village and oversees a variety of hardworking voluntary groups such as Biodiversity & Tidy Town Committee, The Old Hardware and the newly formed Sustainability Committee
