A total of 26 new homes have been given the green light in a new €5m development in Monasterevin.

A planning application was approved by Kildare County Council to allow Brook Advantage Limited to continue with the development on a one hectare site at Oldgrange, Rathangan Road.

The plans provide for the demolition of an existing house and garage.

The 26 dwellings will consist of houses and apartments ranging between three-bedrooms to one-bedroom.

A new recessed access road off the R414 is planned with vehicular connection and pedestrian connections to Oldgrangewood housing scheme.

A new cycle lane and footpaths are also in the designs.
