An Garda Síochána Kildare take part in nationwide 24-hour campaign on Wednesday, June 10 2026

An Garda Síochána Kildare will today (Wednesday, June 10) be taking part in a nationwide 24-hour speed enforcement operation from 00:00am to 23:59pm.

Throughout the day, Gardaí across Kildare will be conducting a significant enforcement operation with a highly visible presence on our roads.

The operation will be supported by GoSafe Mobile Safety Camera vans.

A garda spokesperson said of the operation: “Speeding remains one of the leading causes of serious and fatal road traffic collisions. Every kilometre per hour over the speed limit increases the likelihood of a collision and dramatically increases the risk of death or serious injury.

“Too many families have received devastating news because someone chose to drive too fast. A moment's impatience can have lifelong consequences.

“Speed limits are not targets – they are there to save lives. Slow down. Drive responsibly. Arrive alive.”
