Raheens open with narrow victory

The 2013 Kildare football championship opened on Friday evening (10 May) with three games down for decision, two in the Joe Fox Tool & Plant Hire IFC and one in the Tom Cross JFC.
Raheens took on Eadestown in Naas and although warm favourites trailed after conceding two first half goals before fighting back on the resumption and winning by the minimum margin against an Eadestown side that could count themselves somewhat unfortunate not to have at least secured a replay.
Elsewhere Kilcock handed out a bit of a hammering to Sallins while in the JFC Rheban, as expected accounted for Capagh.
Results:
IFC: Raheens 1-10 Eadestown 2-6
IFC: Kilcock 2-17 Sallins 0-5.
JFC: Rheban 3-6 Cappagh 0-6.
