All-Ireland Senior Football Championship sponsors Eircom have come up with the ultimate challenge for the many GAA Football Championship fans across the country – the eircom GAA Championship Challenge, which was launched at the company’s headquarters yesterday (Tuesday) by Tyrone boss Mickey Harte, Roscommon’s Donie Shine and Kildare captain Johnny Doyle.
While Roscommon and Tyrone will soon go head to head on the pitch in the qualifiers, Mickey Harte and Donie Shine took the competition off the pitch by taking the eircom GAA Championship Challenge, along with Allenwood’s Johnny Doyle. To get a flavor for how eircom ambassadors, Colm Cooper, Johnny Doyle, Donie Shine and Ciaran Whelan fared, you can check out the preview video on www.experiencemore.ie/challenge.
Football fans who are up for the challenge are invited to follow the lead of eircom’s GAA ambassadors and put their knowledge to the test at www.experiencemore this summer for a chance to win money-can’t-buy football prizes and match tickets, including exclusive tickets to the All Ireland Football Championship final.
So, for football fans, the competition is now truly off the pitch, as they compete to be crowned the top scorer from their province. With only 15 seconds to answer each of five questions, there is no room for hesitation for fans willing to take the challenge and put their reputations on the line every week until Monday, September 3.
The top ten scores in each province will be displayed on the official scoreboard every week with the highest scorers on Monday, September 3 crowned provincial winner and receiving three tickets to to the All-Ireland Football Championship final from the comfort of a corporate box in Croke Park.
“As an official sponsor of the GAA Football Championship we really want to add some fun and enjoyment through technology to GAA fans all over the country. Our eircom GAA Championship Challenge is a great way to allow fans to show how much they know and win match tickets to exciting GAA Football Championship matches all over the country, as well as the All Ireland Football Final. We are expecting a great response to the Challenge and judging by what we’ve seen so far, the winners will have demonstrated an impressive level of knowledge of GAA Championship Football to go all the way to this year’s All Ireland Football Final,” said eircom’s chief Marketing Officer Carolan Lennon.
